Many grooms tend to wait until the last minute to purchase groomsmen gifts. It’s ok. Most vendors can handle rush jobs. The worst is when you have no idea what to buy. Here’s a useful groomsman gift that will certainly be used and loved for years by whatever man you give it to.

One of the things I noticed when I was searching for my groomsmen gifts online was how many of the websites did not show a picture of their building or even post an address! I’m sorry but I’m not trusting my groomsmen gifts order to a mom and pop store working out of their garage. That is what I always think when I see a website that deliberately does not post their physical address. What are they hiding?
I found affordable groomsmen gifts at Gunther Gifts. I went with 25 ounce glass mugs that were sturdy, big and engraved all for $20 each.

I live in Escondido and like to be outdoors. For one of my all guys functions, we (8 of us) all went to the Wild Animal Park this last weekend in Escondido, California. We took the special guided tour where you get in a jeep and a park ranger rides you around where the animals are running free. Giraffes, elephants, rhinos, it was like we were on an African safari. Anyhow, I used this event to hand out groomsmen gifts. I got Leatherman multitools for all my friends. I had them engraved with their initials. They all liked their tools. After the animal park, we headed to downtown San Diego and hung out at some bars in the Gaslamp District. Whew, I am beat.

Money clips are a traditional and popular groomsman gift. Here’s why. You’re wearing a tux. You want to look sleek and not have an unsightly bulge in your pocket. A money clip allows you to travel light. You only need your identification card or drivers license, one credit card and a little cash. Everything else can stay home. It’s not needed when you’re at a wedding. Money clips are also reasonably priced. $10 can get you a NFL or MLB metal money clip. Or, if you’re rich, you can spend $800 on a solid 14K gold money clip. Money clips as groomsmen gifts fit into any budget.

Be sure to let your groomsmen know how much they mean to you. They spent time and money to be at your wedding. Thank them with decent groomsmen gifts. It’s the nice, proper thing to do.

Ever since this whole wedding whirlwind started spinning, I have been a shopping fool. I’ve been all around town tasting cakes, looking at flowers, picking china, etc. And, I’m not even the bride! I’m trying to participate in this whole process every step of the way to send the message to my bride that I’m there for her and I didn’t expect to dump this whole wedding planning feat solely upon her.
Today, I got both of our Mother’s Day gifts knocked out and bought my groomsmen gifts online. I am way ahead of the game as our wedding is in August. For my guys I got sports mugs with engraving. We’re all San Diego Chargers fans. For the moms, I got bracelets. My bride thought it was nice that I picked out a present for her mom too. She liked that I saved her a trip to the mall. Hey, I’m awesome.

I’m getting married in December. We already have the reception hall reserved and the church. I just got laid off! I can’t believe this. I guess I thought I was immune from the bad economy. I still have groomsmen gifts, wedding favors, my tux, and a whole bunch of accessories to buy for my wedding. And, we haven’t even booked our honeymoon. We may have to put that one off for a year. I saw some $20 engraved glass mugs online and I think that will be what I get. I haven’t found anything else with so much engraving or that was worth the money. I have to really watch my pennies right now.

The lamest groomsmen gifts are the ones that show you put zero thought into them. For instance, if all of your groomsmen don’t smoke, it would be inconsiderate to hand out cigars and cigar tube holders to everyone. The nonsmoker will think the gift is lame and thoughtful. You’re better off thinking about what your guy friends will like so you know they are happy. After all they’ve put in a lot a time and effort for you and your wedding day.
